Standard kitchen ice cubes are smaller than sphere ice cubes. It takes ten ice cubes or more to equal the volume of ice that sphere ice provides. Ice Mold Capacity

Spherical ice molds are available as single-cavity ice molds through 8-cavity ice molds. When choosing the right size, consider your ice demand and freezer space. If you enjoy more than a couple of cocktails per week, consider a 4-cavity or 8-cavity ice mold.

Ice Mold Material

Ice ball makers are primarily made of silicone or a combination of plastic and silicone. Silicone ice ball molds are durable but provide the flexibility necessary to remove large ice shapes from the mold quickly.
